THE WEDDING ALBUM

May 18, 2002

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cord would like to cordially invite you to browse through their wedding album pictures. They hope you enjoy them. Below you will also find a bit of a narrative by Alex preceding the photographs. Thank you for accepting this invitation.

This short narrative regarding the wedding is in Alex's own words:

"We were married on May 18. Bob Fuller was best man. Last year I was his. his wife, Jennifer Savidge, was maid of honor. It all took place at the most magical ranch of Dan and Jeanette Webster in Santa Ynez, California. Two thousand acres of virtual Paradise. About 75 people attended. My brother Robert, my sister Marlene and her husband Bill, their son Craig and his pregnant wife Patricia and Susannah's mother Tove from Denmark, her father Jes from India, her brother Christian and his wife Grith and their children Zoe (4 years old and the flower girl) and one-year-old Sander, from Denmark. Her father and brother gave her away.

The weather was flawless. We were married under a cathedral of giant old oak trees next to a barn with a paddock on each side containing horses. We brought up Susannah's big horse, Danny. He was a star of the day. Paid full attention to all the goings-on and when we said "I do", he whirled, whinnied and kicked up his heels, perfectly on cue. Amazing! He is a big handsome, tri-colored paint, brown, white and black. A four-year-old Belgian, Percheron, Paint-cross. A character, and BIG! Susannah is a brilliant dressage rider and trainer. She's training Danny to compete in that discipline. Everything about the wedding went off without a hitch. No stress. No strain. It all seemed to just flow.

Without exception, everyone has said several times that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. We drove up to Colorado to Larry Mahan's ranch. Larry is a rodeo legend (7 times World Champion) and a great pal and horseman. He has 71 horses, a herd of longhorns, five buffalo, cats, three dogs and a partridge in a pear tree. We had the best time riding all day every day, roping, herding cattle, a snow storm through which we rode. It was a fantasy. Unfortunately, a few days after we left, the whole damn state seemed to catch fire. Larry's ranch was spared and so was another dear friend's house (harry Carey, Jr.) in Durango, where we visted. Harry had to evacuate for a time. The fire came within a mile of their house. Our road trip covered a little more than 2500 miles. We could not have had a better time.

All the best,

Alex

"Too small? Can't be too small! Oh, damn. That's a cigar band."

Bob: "Say, look at that big bunch of cows."
Alex: "Not 'bunch,' but 'herd.' "
Bob: "Heard what?"
Alex: "Herd of cows."
Bob: "Sure, I've heard of cows. There's a big bunch of 'em right over there."
